Course Summary : 

Managing Safely is a course for employers, managers and supervisors in any sector and any organisation. It’s designed to provide delegates with the information they need to know to help them handle health and safety in their workplace. 

The aim of the course is to “ensure that safety requirements are appreciated by employers and people employed as managers and enable them to review their own systems for safety, introducing new controls or implementing changes as appropriate to make their workplace safer”.

The flexible new high impact programme covers all the main health and safety issues, and includes a session tackling the environment. The course lasts for 24 hours in total.   Managing Safely can be delivered over a full week or on single days. We plan to hold it over 5 days to give candidates more of a hand holding experience through the course, exam & project.

It has 8 modules.

Notes :

After successfully completing the IOSH Managing Safely course delegates will be better able to: 

• Apply basic management principles and practices to safety and health issues as part of a total management strategy.
• Set achievable safety and health objectives and plan and implement courses of action to achieve those objectives.
• Recognise safety and health hazards present in the workplace.
• Carry out and record basic assessments of the risks associated with workplace hazards, and recommend suitable control measures.
• Take account of risks arising from ergonomic factors.
• Ensure that adequate information, training and supervision are provided for employees.
• Investigate an accident or incident involving injury or damage to determine the causes and take appropriate actions.
