Course Summary :

Anyone who has passed their test since 1st January 1997 will not automatically have class E on their licence.  Class E entitles you to tow a trailer over 750kg, which includes horseboxes and all larger trailers.
We offer an initial 2 day course:
Day 1:Manoeuvring, hitching and unhitching and reversing, braking and highway code.
Day 2:Road training including town driving, dual carriageways, test practice.
Max 2 trainees per 2 day course.
Course requirements: Vehicle with at least 3 seats for driver, instructor and the other trainee. A large area of concrete or grass if dry, five times the length of the towing vehicle and trailer and at least five times the width. L plates on towing vehicle and trailer. If the vehicle is registered from 1st October 2003 onwards, the trailer must be of the type which the driver cannot see over whilst reversing i.e. a box trailer, horse box etc. If the vehicle is older than this then you can tow a flatbed, low loader or drop sided trailer for the test. The honeymoon period for this will cease from 1st July 2007 when only high-sided trailers will be permitted for use on the test.
You must remember that at present until the trainee passes their test they must be treated like a learner driver and have someone with a full licence sitting beside them and display appropriate ‘L’ plates whilst towing.
We recommend due to the long wait for tests that you apply for your test before you book training, and this can be done either on line or over the telephone.

Notes :

There is no guarantee that everyone can achieve test standard in two days, so it must be realised that further training may be necessary.
This can be arranged if required
