Course Summary :

Practical courses addressing: Unconsciousness, Recovery Position, Artificial Ventilation, Control of bleeding and appropriate dressings, Other conditions, Transporting casualties.

In view of the decrease in farm staff numbers the skills of self-preservation are taught in the event of an accident whilst working alone.

The course will provide the delegate with the necessary knowledge and skills to meet the requirements for First Aid support, within the terms of the Health & Safety (First Aid) regulations 1981.

 

This course involves a high level of person-to-person physical contact and practice on artificial devices and manikins. Successful delegates acquire the knowledge and skills to provide first response assistance to persons having suffered an accident or injury at work.

 

No formal assessment is carried out. A certificate of attendance complying with the Approved Code of Practice will be issued. A refresher will be required after each 3-year period to maintain validity of the certificate.
