This 2 day course has been designed for new and existing team leaders and will introduce the team leader to the range of activities they would be expected to undertake. The course is very interactive and enjoyable!
The team leader role is normally someone who is working closely with the team but has some responsibility for ensuring that the task of the team is completed successfully. Team leaders often have a role in communicating with other departments as well as their own line manager.
Course Content
Defining the role of a team leader/supervisor – in this section the delegates will explore the skills and attributes they need to develop to be an effective team leader
Characteristics of effective teams – in this section the delegates will learn how teams can become highly performing by utilising the skills they will learn through the two days
Delegation – the delegates will understand how they can make more time for themselves and how to delegate certain aspects of their role to their team. They will learn that this process needs planning. They will also learn that delegating can be very motivational and will develop their team members.
Motivating yourself and others – the delegates will understand how we are all motivated by different things. They will explore the best ways to gain commitment from their team members.
Communication – this section will consider all of the pitfalls and barriers to effective communication and how they can over-come those pitfalls. This section will include how they can effectively lead and plan effective meetings
